For the past few days I have been sneaking into the studio playing our new Tee Drums 14x7 100% Oak Snare Drum with Oak/Birch hoops which I have set up on my kit (and it may never leave).
I thought i would go through the heads range starting with the Evans G1 coated and then onto the G2 coated and then the Genera which is what we would normally do to try the drum on these various heads but I have not gone past the G1 coated yet, really liking the balance between the shell, the hoops and this single ply head. The wood hoops are sucking up some of the ring that you would expect from triple flanged hoops but still leaving me with a tolerable amount (which i like).
We can build a full Oak snare drum to any size.
Here is a short video of this snare drum... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151450851351254&set=vb.221191297907942&type=2&theater
